Dimensions Bibliometric meeting, 16. - 17. April 2018, Reading (UK)
After its recent launch, the Dimensions Platform is now interested in how to best develop metrics und support scientometricians. At the meeting in Reading, UK, scientometricians, research management professionals and funder representatives will have the opportunity to discuss and brainstorm the possibilities of Dimensions. The *metrics-Project will be represented in Reading by Isabella Peters.
re:publica Berlin 2. - 4. Mai 2018, Berlin
2018 sees the 12th edition of the most important conference on digitalization and society take place in Berlin. This years Motto is “Pop - the power of people”. The goal ist to burst filter bubbles, enter the public sphere and make internet culture and politics tangible. Martin Giesler will have a look at berlin for us.
COAR Annual Meeting: 14 - 17 May 2018, Hamburg
We are excited to announce that this year’s COAR Annual Meeting (Confederation of Open Access Repositories) will take place in Hamburg. On May 14-17 2018, participants will be able to interchange news and information regarding repositories, open access and open science with colleagues from all over the world.
The *metrics team is proud to host a workshop on the uses of metrics in different scenarios, for which it is now possible to register.
Open Metrics Seminar, 23 May 2018. Uppsala (Sweden)
The Swedish metrics Group is hosting the Open Metrics Seminar, to allow researchers to dicuss the oppurtunities and difficulties when working with open metrics. Our very own Steffen Lemke is invited as a speaker.
Bibliothekartag: 12 - 15 June 2018, Berlin
Recent questions and solutions about Open Access are becoming more and more common in the day-to-day procedures librarians face. Therefore, the German Bibliothekartag shall not be missed, if one wants to inform themselves extensively. As well as in 2017, in 2018 *metrics will join the event with two contributions:
STI Conference 2018: 12. - 14. September, Leiden (The Netherlands)
The 23. STI conference will be held from 12. to the 14. of September in Leiden (The Netherlands). This years Focus is on the transition of indicators. The aim is to offer an international platform to discuss more comprehensive and contextualized indicators. Katrin Weller, Astrid Orth and Isabella Peters of the *metrics-team will host track 11 about challenges of social media data for bibliometrics.
